School Introduction:

Hokkaido College of High Technology has comprehensive programs for training its students to be professionals in Biotechnology, Medicine, Information Technology and Welfare. The college is located in Hokkaido with an excellent living and learning environment where the students can enjoy their college life.

Majors:
Biotechnology Major: 3 Years
Students take specialized courses to become biotechnology specialists. There are 3 specialized courses: Pharmaceutical Products Analysis Course, Environmental Science Course, and Food Biotechnology Course.
Biotechnology Major: 4 Years
Students take specialized courses to become biotechnology specialists. There are 2 specialized courses available: Gene Course and Medical Biotechnology Course.
Medical System Major: 2 Years
Students take specialized courses to become medical system specialists. There are 5 specialized courses available for this major: Health Information Management Course, Medical Secretary Course, Medical Clerk Course, Dispensing Pharmacy Clerk Course, and Registered Salesclerk Course.
Information System Major: 2 Years
Students take specialized courses to become information system specialists. The 5 specialized courses available in this major are Programmer Course, Networking Course, Internet Course, CG Design Course, and General Business Course.
Child & Mental Health Major: 3 Years
Students take specialized courses to become nursery/kindergarten teachers and train to keep children’s minds and bodies healthy. There are 3 specialized courses: Child Course, Welfare Course, and Mind Course.
Orthoptist Major: 3 Year
Orthoptists are medical specialists who give rehabilitation and training to people with visual limitations. Students study to pass the National Qualification Examination and to work as medical specialists.
Nursing Major: 3 Years
In this major, students study to become registered nurses who work as members of medial teams consisting of doctors and other medical professionals.
Emergency Medical Technician Major: 3 Years
This major enables students to become specialists in life-saving techniques based on doctors’ instructions. When transporting patients who are severely ill, injured in traffic accidents, or in natural disasters, specialized care is required. These students will study to deliver this care and to acquire the National Qualification as an Emergency Medical Technician.
Clinical Engineering Major: 3 Years
Life-supporting systems include equipment used to assist people in breathing, circulation, or metabolizing. Students in this major become specialists who can operate and maintain this equipment. Students will study to achieve the National Qualification as a clinical engineer.
Dental Hygienist Major: 3 Years
Dental Hygienists are healthcare professionals that support/supplement dentists’ diagnosis, and give teeth care advice to the patients to prevent cavity. In this major, students study to acquire the National Qualification as a dental hygienist.
Judo Therapist Major: 3 Years
Judo therapists are medical professionals who give medical care to help patients recover from bone fractures, bone dislocations, sprains, and bruises. Judo therapy originated from Jujitsu which is an old Japanese Martial Arts, and it was further developed by introducing western medicine. Students aim to acquire the National Qualification of judo therapist.
Acupuncture and Moxibustion Therapy: 3 Years
Acupuncture and moxibustion therapists are health professionals who enhance and vitalize the natural healing ability of the patients by stimulating their bodies. Acupuncture and moxibustion therapists can prevent or treat diseases, injuries, and/or sports disorders with their stimulation and treatment. Students aim to acquire the National Qualification as an acupuncture therapist and moxibustion therapist.
Prosthetist and Orthosist Major: 3 Years
Proshtetists and Orthosists are health care professionals who produce, adjust, and maintain prosthetics and orthotics for people who lost extremities by accidents and/or have body function disorders. They also provide alteration and/or treatment of the prosthetics and orthotics. In this major, students aim to acquire the National Qualification as a prosthetist and orthosist.
